Delegations from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom have signed a licensing agreement for the Ukrainian Octopus interceptor drone.
“Together with our allies, we are strengthening Ukraine’s air-defence capabilities. This is a historic precedent and an important next step that will allow Ukrainian-made interceptors — which have already proven effective against Shaheds — to be produced in the United Kingdom,” said Ukraine’s Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, plans call for mass production of the interceptors, potentially reaching several thousand units per month. The drones manufactured in the UK will be supplied to Ukraine to bolster the protection of its airspace.
Denys Shmyhal thanked the British partners for their cooperation, trust, and contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s air defence.
