This year, Ukraine plans to receive 3 million artillery shells.
As part of the "Czech Initiative," Ukraine may receive 1.8 million artillery shells this year.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint press conference with Czech President Petr Pavel in Prague.
The President reminded that last year Czechia significantly assisted Ukraine with artillery shells. According to him, Ukraine hopes for equally effective cooperation in 2025.
He also announced an upcoming meeting with representatives of Czech defense companies. At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine is counting not only on supplies within the "Czech Initiative." According to Zelensky, this year Ukraine expects to receive 3 million artillery shells.

It is known that as of the end of April 2025, Czechia had delivered 400,000 large-caliber shells to Ukraine as part of a new round of its initiative.
The initiative fund is continuously replenished. In early April, it was reported that Norway would allocate 4 billion Norwegian kroner ($376 million) for ammunition procurement. Throughout 2024, Czechia, with the support of international partners, supplied Ukraine with about 1.5 million artillery shells as part of the "Czech Ammunition Initiative."
It is noted that the program procures not only standard 155mm and 152mm shells but also other ammunition with calibers over 100mm. In particular, the supply of 155mm and 152mm shells amounted to around 500,000 units.
