Since the beginning of this year, the Ukrainian sports community has been increasing its readiness for emergencies. As part of the project "First Aid and Special Training" organized by FAST and supported by Favbet Foundation, over 1,800 coaches and athletes from various regions of the country will be trained in modern techniques for providing assistance in critical situations.

According to a statement from the Favbet Foundation, experienced FAST instructors have already conducted 10 training sessions during January–February, teaching the basics of first aid to 212 coaches and athletes in sports such as gymnastics, weightlifting, athletics, judo, rowing, Greco-Roman wrestling, and freestyle wrestling.

Participants learned methods for stopping critical bleeding, providing assistance to unconscious individuals, and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. These skills are crucial for saving lives in emergencies. Given the interest and positive feedback from participants, the project has been scaled up: additional training sessions for over 1,600 athletes are planned across the country in 2025. This is the first large-scale systematic first aid training for the sports community in Ukraine.

"We face serious challenges – we need to not only reach as many people as possible with this life-saving knowledge but also put this training on a systematic track because the demand is only growing. We thank our partners, who make it possible to scale this project across the country, even in these difficult times," said Yevheniya Zhuriva, director of FAST.

The Favbet Foundation also stated that they would continue supporting the project until its full implementation.
