Ukraine has dispatched its rescuers to Slovenia, which is currently grappling with flooding, according to Interior Minister Igor Klymenko on August 11th.

He mentioned that at the directive of the President and the government, a flood relief module has been assembled and sent to participate in recovery efforts in the northeastern region of Slovenia.

"The group consists of over fifty specialists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and nearly twenty units of specialized equipment. Our rescuers possess the necessary expertise, and in some cases, even unprecedented experience, which will help stabilize the situation as quickly as possible," Klymenko stated.

As a result of the floods in Slovenia, which began last week due to heavy rains, at least six people have tragically lost their lives, according to the latest reports. The country has witnessed the destruction of buildings and bridges, with estimated damages reaching around 500 million euros. Authorities have described the current floods as the worst natural disaster in the country in 30 years.

Slovenia has sought assistance from the European Union, requesting heavy machinery, and from NATO, urging for helicopters, soldiers, and temporary makeshift bridges. Ukraine has also offered its help to the country in overcoming the aftermath of this catastrophe.
