The defense technology startup Himera has supplied its communication systems to the U.S. Air Force. In the fall of 2024, Himera successfully sold its tactical radios outside of Ukraine for the first time, specifically to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), as reported by Defence Blog.
"They decided to test our product and assess whether it makes sense to implement our technology on a larger scale within the U.S. military," the company stated.
In February, the startup announced a partnership with Quantropi, a company specializing in the development of cutting-edge technologies to ensure quantum-safe data protection.
The partnership involves integrating quantum-secured encryption into Himera's G1 PRO tactical radios, R1 repeaters, B1 autonomous repeaters, and E1 Internet extenders. According to the agreement, Quantropi will be the exclusive distributor of Himera's products in the U.S. and Canada, with the right to promote them in select NATO markets and among allies.
The sale to the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory marks a significant milestone for Himera, positioning the Ukrainian company as a new player in the global defense communication sector.
