Ukrposhta has resumed the operation of two stationary branches in Gostomel, Kyiv, Moschun and Pushcha-Vodytsya, as well as rural branches in Radynets, Krasyatychi and Kolonshchyna.

Those offices were damaged by Russian occupation by an average of 30% and took time to recover.

The last time they worked was on February 24, and it was no longer possible to provide services, as the occupiers used the premises as their headquarters, and branch workers and the general public were evacuated due to the threat to their lives.

According to the national postal operator, branch 04075 in Pushcha-Vodytsya has only recently started its work, as the territory of the Pushcha-Vodytsya park has been mined and tram tracks have been damaged by shell explosions.

Currently, 5% of branches in the Kyiv region are closed due to damage after the occupation, Ukrposhta notes.

Most branches of Kyiv region, which were under occupation or had minor damage, are fully operational for two months, some resumed work even a week after the liberation of the region. But the most affected buildings are gradually being restored.

Igor Smilyansky, CEO of Ukrposhta

He said that during the occupation of Kyiv region in two stationary branches of Gostomel, the Russian invaders broke windows and doors, stole all valuables and damaged the roof. Therefore, recovery took some time. And in Moshchun the wall of the post office building was destroyed by a shell explosion, equipment, goods and postal items were damaged. Currently, the branch has moved to another room in the same building.

"Borodyanka's central office is still open at the local school, as the building where the department used to operate and the Borodyanka post office needs to be rebuilt after the fire and explosions. Together with local authorities and NGOs, they found temporary premises for sorting mail and we are looking for a solution to restore the premises as soon as possible and restore customer service at the old address. In addition, the destroyed offices in Irpen still need to be restored," Smilyansky added.

According to the company, there are a total of 634 branches in the Kyiv region: 561 stationary and 73 mobile branches.

In total, 372 mobile branches of Ukrposhta started operating during the war. In addition, the company computerized 79 rural post offices in Cherkasy, Khmelnytsky, Ternopil, Rivne, Poltava, Luhansk, Kirovohrad and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. Thus, 125,000 Ukrainians living in villages with more than 1,200 residents have access to financial services.
