On Ben Hodges opinion, now the world is witnessing "the beginning of the end of the Russian Federation."

The military goals of the United States of America include the "de-imperialization" of Russia.

This opinion was expressed by a retired American lieutenant general, former commander of US forces in Europe, a veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Ben Hodges on Twitter.

I think that US war-aims for this conflict should include "de-imperialization" of Russia. It seems to me that we are seeing the beginning of the end of the Russian Federation as it looks today. We need to be prepared for this…we were not prepared for the end of the USSR.

Ben Hodges

This is how Hodges commented on former US Ambassador to NATO Kurt Volker's words after visiting Georgia.

He said Russia's "imperialist wars" against its neighbors did not start in Ukraine, writes Agenda.

People are now focused on Ukraine. However, Russia's imperialist wars against its neighbors did not start in Ukraine but here in Georgia in 2008. Russia occupied part of Moldova. They are now more brutal in Ukraine, seizing more territories in Ukraine, but this is all interconnected, it is part of one whole. We cannot forget that Russia is still here.
