President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that if Russians want to cause blackouts for Ukrainians, they will get the same in return.
He made the remark while speaking with journalists.
“One of the most intensive directions from which they strike Ukraine is the Belgorod direction. From there there have always been missile strikes, aviation, KABs, etc. Where do rockets fly to Kharkiv region from? Where did hundreds, now thousands of GABs come from? From there. They also strike Kharkiv’s energy infrastructure from there. Maybe they in Belgorod should no longer remain comfortable if they act like that. Probably that is absolutely fair. We have told them that they must understand: if they want to cause blackouts for us, we will do the same,” Zelenskyy said.
He stressed that the Russian forces must feel the cost of this war, but added that the civilian population is not a target.
“We do not kill civilians. Believe me, regarding Belgorod region, Kursk region — the distance is such that it gives us the opportunity to use various types of weapons that we have in service. Ours, by the way. But Ukrainian forces carry out only precise strikes exactly where the task indicates,” the President said.
