President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the delegation of the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress from the Republican Party led by Chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Mike Turner.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of State thanked for the powerful assistance provided by the United States to Ukraine.
"Bicameral and bipartisan support from the United States, President Biden, and the entire American people played a decisive role in our country's ability to resist Russia in the war for our freedom and democratic values," Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
The President of Ukraine expressed hope that the high level of support and cooperation between the two states will be maintained. This is the key to the joint victory over the Russian aggressor.
"We will win because we are fighting for our freedom and the freedom of our children. And we highly appreciate the help you provide us - not only to our army, but also political and financial support to the Ukrainian people: teachers, medical workers, pensioners," said the Head of State.
In this context, during the meeting, further directions of assistance from the U.S. side and the role of Congress in this process were discussed in detail.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed the Congress delegation about the situation on the frontline and outlined the forecast for its development in the coming months. At the same time, he emphasized that the Ukrainian people believe in their army, and expressed his belief that Ukraine will achieve its goal.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of the speedy transfer of already declared security support. Separately, he noted the need to provide military equipment and weapons for the needs of the defense forces, which can influence the further course of hostilities and stop Russian terror against peaceful Ukrainian cities.
The President thanked the congressmen for the expressed strong support of Ukraine, in particular from the Republican Party, and readiness to continue helping our country to ensure victory over the aggressor.
