Russian forces have reportedly been ordered to storm Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk sector “at any cost,” resulting in a sharp rise in their casualties — with Ukraine’s Security Service special forces alone eliminating more than 100 Russian troops there every day.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this following a briefing from SSU head Vasyl Maliuk, according to his statement on Telegram.
“I want to acknowledge the warriors of the SSU’s ‘A’ Center for Special Operations, who are carrying out active combat missions in the Pokrovsk direction. Russian troops have been ordered to storm our positions at any cost, which has significantly increased their losses. Only our SSU fighters in this area are destroying more than 100 occupiers daily — not counting the results achieved by other units of our Defense and Security Forces. In total, SSU ‘A’ fighters eliminated 3,028 Russian troops over the past month, with each case verified,” Zelensky wrote.
He added that the SSU continues to dismantle Russian spy networks and that he has approved new operations aimed at reducing Russia’s military potential.
According to Zelensky, the meeting also included a detailed discussion of the SSU’s combat performance.
“Vasyl Maliuk reported on the results of our long-range strikes carried out by the SSU’s forces. It is important that Ukrainian long-range missile drones are demonstrating increasing effectiveness. We have achieved significant results in destroying Russian air defense systems as well,” the President noted.
