Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Howard Buffett discussed aid to Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with American businessman and philanthropist Howard Buffett, who is on a visit to our country.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Howard Buffett for the support of the Ukrainian people and the projects that the philanthropist implements in our country. In particular, the Head of State noted the implementation of the kitchen factory project, which is part of the school meals reform initiated by First Lady Olena Zelenska, as well as assistance in the implementation of the grain initiative, support for demining, purchase of generators, and elimination of the consequences of the enemy’s shelling of the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine.
The President informed the businessman about the situation in Ukraine and the repulse of Russian armed aggression on the battlefield. He emphasized the intention to take steps every day that would ensure the resilience of Ukrainian soldiers, support society and business.
"We are trying to bring victory closer every day," stated Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
For his part, Howard Buffett said that in addition to supporting a number of projects directly in our country, he tries to talk about Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in the U.S. on various public platforms.
During the meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Howard Buffett discussed the issue of assistance in humanitarian demining of the territories of Ukraine, in particular the lands of the Kherson region. The President noted that a large part of the Kherson region was deoccupied last fall and is in great need of demining, as sowing traditionally begins in the spring, and this region has a highly developed agro-industrial complex.
