The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defence Ministry has published new findings on foreign equipment that Russia is using in the production of universal planning and correction modules for air‑dropped bombs (UMPK), as well as for missiles and artillery ammunition.
The information was released on Facebook.
The data, now available on the War&Sanctions portal, was collected by participants of an international OSINT hackathon held on the first anniversary of the platform’s launch.
Investigators from Ukraine and abroad identified Okuma (Japan) and Hision (China) machining centres on the production line for universal planning and correction modules used by Russia’s Tactical Missiles Corporation.
It was also discovered that the Burevestnik Central Research Institute produces stabilisers for mortar rounds using a Performa vertical machining centre made by Taiwan’s AKIRA SEIKI.
Researchers further identified Russian companies that, even after the start of Russia’s full‑scale invasion of Ukraine, supplied the Votkinsk plant — which manufactures Iskander and Oreshnik missiles — with Chinese KEDE and WMT machines, as well as Taiwanese ECOM VL‑12i milling centres.
The collected information is already being used to support new sanctions initiatives and to restrict the production capabilities of Russia’s military‑industrial complex.
