One of the most important lessons of recent years is that the era of political onanism and cartoonish facades is over. Now, whenever someone makes a statement, it must be taken with the utmost seriousness.
When Putin says he wants to take all of Ukraine — that is exactly what he wants and is trying to do.
hen Hamas says it wants to slaughter all Jews — that is exactly what it wants and is trying to do. When Iran says it wants to destroy Israel — that is exactly what it wants and is trying to do.
When the United States says it is ready to strike — it truly means it and has the capability to do so.
The next step lies with Europe: to finally understand that “signals” from Russia are not hints — they are direct messages.
Europe must not only support a Fighting Ukraine, but finally commit its own forces. It must send its soldiers to assist Kyiv — at least initially to secure rear areas somewhere along the Polish border. It must do so because this is a European war, and Europe’s future depends on how this war develops.
I hope that the events unfolding in the Middle East will give more courage and confidence to European elites and leaders.
What is happening now clearly shows: tyrants can and should be beaten.
