There is a plan to build in Odessa a new yacht dock and a new port alongside, thanks to an international investment.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced this plan on February 22 in Kyiv, at the forum “Ukraine 3.0 Infrastructure. All-Ukrainian Forum”.

The question of ports: they (UAE companies) are professionals. They are now in our market. We are talking about a project for the construction of a large "marina" (yacht harbour) in Odessa and a large separate port. And one of the companies we met will be in Ukraine this week, and we will talk specifically about river transport, in which they are professionals and are ready to build river ports.

During a meeting with business representatives as part of his trip to the UAE, Zelensky offered DP World holding, the world port operator of the United Arab Emirates, to invest in the development of Ukrainian ports, as well as in the yacht harbour in Odessa.

The President did not disclose the details of the project and also said that river transportation is the cheapest in Ukraine, while it can be a profitable industry for both business and the State budget.

The UAE group is already one of the main foreign investors in Odessa port system.
