On Monday, September 29, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the autumn military draft, starting from October 1.

According to the Russian BBC service, the draft will run from October 1 to December 31, 2025. A total of 135,000 people are planned to be conscripted for active military service.

The report notes that in September, the Russian State Duma approved in the first reading a bill on year-round conscription into the Russian army. According to the document, draft commissions will operate continuously, but the actual deployment to the military will follow the previous schedule—twice a year: from April 1 to July 15 and from October 1 to December 31.
