Several Ukrainian regions faced intense Russian missile, drone, and artillery attacks on Monday, June 2, resulting in civilian injuries, infrastructure damage, and fires.

In Kharkiv, two Russian ballistic missiles struck a residential area, one near a multi-story building and the other just meters away from a school, city mayor Igor Terekhov reported on Telegram. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the strikes.

Meanwhile, in the Kherson region, Russian forces shelled the Korabelnyi district early Monday morning, injuring two elderly women aged 70 and 73. Both were at home during the attack and suffered blast injuries and concussions. Medical assistance was provided on site. The previous day, 19 people, including two children, were injured in the region, while three others were killed. Russian strikes targeted multiple settlements, damaging three apartment buildings, seven private houses, gas pipelines, a service station, farm structures, agricultural machinery, and private vehicles. Ukrainian air defenses shot down one Shahed-131/136 drone during a nighttime attack, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the regional military administration.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, five people were killed and nine injured amid heavy Russian strikes. Over the past day, the occupiers launched nearly 600 attacks across 16 settlements, including one missile strike on the city of Zaporizhzhia itself. The offensive included 12 airstrikes, over 350 drone attacks (mainly FPV drones), six multiple rocket launcher strikes, and more than 220 artillery hits. Significant damage was reported to residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure, according to regional military administration head Ivan Fedorov.

In Chernihiv, Russian forces targeted an industrial facility on the morning of June 2, igniting a large fire. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze, which spread over 6,800 square meters, preventing further damage, the State Emergency Service reported.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, artillery and drone strikes targeted the Nikopol district, injuring three men aged 51, 68, and 72. Several civilian structures, including a medical facility, fire station, and store, sustained damage, along with a power line. Russian forces also struck a State Emergency Service unit in Nikopol at night, damaging the shelter where rescuers were stationed and injuring two men and an ambulance driver. Emergency workers had to withdraw after a second strike, according to regional military chief Serhiy Lysak.

Lastly, in the Donetsk region, the city of Sloviansk was hit by Geran-2 drones early Monday. Administrative buildings, cafes, and residential structures in the city center were damaged, though no casualties were reported, said Vadym Liakh, head of the Sloviansk City Military Administration.

These ongoing attacks underscore the relentless pressure faced by Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure amid continued Russian aggression.
