Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces have recorded a sharp increase in strikes on Russian infantry during the first five days of October, which commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi linked to an increase in Russian manpower on the front line and what he described as ongoing covert mobilisation in Russia.
According to Brovdi, Unmanned Systems Forces operators recorded 2,699 confirmed Russian personnel losses between October 1 and 5, including both killed and wounded.
The figure was 39.7% higher than during the same five-day period in September, when 1,931 losses were recorded, and 76.5% higher than on August 1–5, when the figure stood at 1,529.
Brovdi said the largest increase was recorded in the Pokrovsk-Dobropillia sector, within the area of responsibility of the Azov grouping and the 1st Azov Corps of Ukraine’s National Guard.
In this sector alone, Unmanned Systems Forces operators recorded 1,268 Russian personnel losses during the first five days of October. This was 43% more than during the corresponding period in September, when 884 were recorded, and 91% above the 664 recorded during the first five days of August.
Brovdi presented the figures as evidence of an increasing concentration of Russian infantry on the front and linked the trend to what he described as Russia’s covert mobilisation efforts.
He stressed that the figures cover only losses attributed to units of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces and do not include those inflicted by other branches of the Ukrainian military.
According to Brovdi, the figures are based on verified losses recorded in Ukraine’s DELTA battlefield management system and the Unmanned Systems Forces’ own tracking system.
