The armed forces of Ukraine, thanks to new Western weapons, will be able to go on the offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region to the coast of the Sea of Azov to cut Russia's land corridor to the occupied Crimea.

This opinion was expressed in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua by a military expert, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Roman Svitan.

Commenting on the results of the next Ramstein summit, the expert noted:

"We were given the positions we requested to carry out one large offensive operation - a strategic offensive. Basically, this is access to the Azov coast."

According to him, the allies in some positions gave even more than Ukraine asked for:

"Let's say that the same armored vehicles were given more than 1000, although about 700 were requested. We were given more than 150 tanks - this is more than half of what we asked for. The remaining issue on the Leopards will be closed in the coming weeks. We will receive more than 300 tanks. There is positive news about the supply of a large amount of ammunition for self-propelled guns and Himars for offensive tasks."

As Svitan noted, Ukraine has prepared a certain number of troops to carry out a strategic offensive, and now funds are being transferred to implement the tasks.

"After these funds come to us, one task will be completed at the moment - access from any point of the Zaporizhzhya Front to any point of the Azov coast. The task is to cut the land corridor from Russia to the Kherson region and Crimea. After completing this task, the collapse of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts and the de-occupation of Crimea will begin," he said.
