In April, as part of iSaloni 2025, the Rugsandrugs studio will present carpets from its debut collection, inspired by the natural landscapes of Ukraine.

Rugsandrugs will showcase four carpets from the Terra Ukraїna series at the collective stand of Ukrainian design brands, UKRAINE DESIGN BRANDS, in Pavilion 5, Stand A23-A27.

The Terra Ukraїna collection is a material transformation of the unique photo project by Yurko Dyachyshyn. This journey explores the beauty of the Ukrainian land: its reliefs, colors, textures, and the changing seasons. The images of real landscapes have been recreated in the carpets using traditional weaving techniques and natural materials—wool and Tencel.

“We aimed not only to convey the visual aesthetics of Ukrainian nature but also its deep connection to cultural memory and identity. This collection is not just about design; it’s about a sense of place, about landscape as a symbol of home,” says the collection’s designer, Tetiana Shaleva.

Each carpet is a textile canvas that honors the art of traditional hand-knot weaving, combining craftsmanship with modern design approaches. The pieces were created in collaboration with masters and manufacturers in Nepal and India, who adhere to the principles of craft and sustainable production. Founded in 2022, during a time of irreversible change for Ukraine, the Rugsandrugs /RNR/ project seeks to preserve Ukrainian cultural heritage and promote it globally.

The debut collections for the project include:

  • The thematic collection-dedication, Terra Ukraїna, created by designer Tetiana Shaleva based on Yurko Dyachyshyn’s photo project Terra Galicia.
  • The timeless Terra Monochromes series, which continues the theme of the first collection, drawing inspiration from the color palette of Ukrainian landscape reliefs.
