Belarus and the Russian Federation will conduct joint military exercises. They will work out one of the options for deploying military units during joint actions.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
According to the Belarusian Ministry of Defense, a joint staff training of the United Command of the Regional Group of Forces will take place in Minsk to enhance the defense capability of the Union State.
The theme of the training is "Decision-making on the deployment of the RGVS in the interests of ensuring the military security of the Union State."
The exercises will take place from January 14 to 16. Specifically, representatives of the Belarusian and Russian armed forces will work on one of the options for deploying military units (forces) during joint operations at stationary command posts.
The training is part of a series of preparations for the joint strategic exercise Zapad-2025, which will take place this year in Belarus.
A week ago, it became known that Belarus is increasing its military presence along the border with Ukraine. In particular, units of the Belarusian Ground Forces were deployed to the Stolin, Lelchytsky, Mozyr, and Gomel regions.
At the same time, the Central Defense Department noted that there is currently no threat of an invasion of Ukrainian territory by regular Belarusian forces. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are in control of the situation at the border.
