Russian forces attacked 10 data centres across Ukraine in September, highlighting the growing threat to the country's digital and telecommunications infrastructure, Prime Minister Koretskyi said.
According to the prime minister, another data centre was targeted several days ago. The facility provides communications services to 90 settlements, raising concerns about the potential disruption of essential connectivity.
In response, Koretskyi instructed the heads of all executive government bodies to urgently establish dedicated cybersecurity teams, procure the necessary security software and bring it into operation.
He emphasised that cybersecurity capabilities must be strengthened across the entire public administration, rather than concentrated in a limited number of specialised agencies.
"Key digital authorities are already capable of repelling attacks involving artificial intelligence. I expect the same level of readiness from every government agency and institution," Koretskyi said.
The instructions come amid continued Russian attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure, including facilities supporting digital services and communications.
The prime minister did not specify the locations of the affected data centres or provide details about the extent of the damage and any resulting service disruptions.
