Yuriy Ignat, the speaker of the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this on the air of the information telethon. He added that a certain number of aircraft still remain at this airfield.
“After yesterday’s events, we see that the planes are dispersed there, namely strategic aviation; we are talking about the Engels airfield. Of course, there are still a certain number of aircraft there. Still, many of them have already been relocated to various airfields that can receive, maintain, serve them … After these events, in the evening, the activity of enemy aviation was significantly reduced," Ignat said.
At the same time, he stressed that the threat of a massive rocket attack has not passed, and perhaps, the Russians have only made certain adjustments to their plans.
"The President and the top military leadership note that the threat has not passed, and the occupiers have not abandoned their insidious intentions, perhaps on New Year's holidays or on some other dates, to hit our infrastructure still. Therefore, we must constantly prepare, and adhere to the authorities' recommendations," said the speaker.
As for attacks by Iranian drones, according to Ignat, the second batch includes 250 drones, 70 of which have already been shot down by air defense forces.
"The figure was announced that the second batch is about 250, already up to 70 of these strike-type UAVs - Shahed-131 and Shahed-136 … were destroyed by air defense. You can further downvote, count, but the Russians will do everything to persuade Iran for further cooperation," Ignat noted.
