Russian occupation forces have started deploying the North Korean Bulsae-4 long-range self-propelled anti-tank missile system against Ukraine, as reported by Militarny.
Images of the launch system were shared on the KUP Telegram channel.
The system was detected by Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance in an open area.
The Bulsae-4 can strike targets beyond line-of-sight at distances exceeding 10 km. Due to the limited information on the specific characteristics of this North Korean weapon, some sources estimate its effective range between 10 and 25 kilometers. This range allows the system to attack armored vehicles from a safe distance.
The Bulsae-4 launch system consists of a rotating package with eight missile containers mounted on a North Korean wheeled armored vehicle, the M-2010, with a 6x6 wheel configuration.
The guided missile features large stabilizers and an overhead attack mode, targeting the thinner armor on top of armored vehicles. It uses an electro-optical seeker combined with command guidance via fiber optic cable for targeting.
This allows the operator to manually control the missile via video, enabling the observation of terrain features and obstacles, and targeting beyond line-of-sight or even behind cover. Continuous video feedback facilitates re-targeting if a more priority target is detected, ensuring high accuracy at maximum range with the first shot.
