Russian occupiers are trying to expand the zone of active combat operations along the Sumy region border in an attempt to cut off the logistics routes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF).

This was reported by Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, during a TV telethon.

"Currently, we see the enemy trying to enter our territory with assault groups or expand the zone of active combat within Ukraine, in the direction of the settlement of Novenke. However, the units of both the SBGS and other components of the Defense Forces are delivering maximum strikes to prevent the enemy from securing a foothold and amassing forces on Ukrainian territory," he said.

The State Border Guard spokesperson noted that the UAF is not allowing the occupiers to advance deeper into Ukraine and cut off the logistics routes of Ukrainian fighters in the Kursk region. He added that the enemy is attempting to push the Defense Forces out of their territory and further expand the zone of active fighting.

"All components of the Defense Forces are operating in that direction to prevent this. All available weapons are being used," Demchenko emphasized.
