On the night of February 20, Russia carried out a massive missile and drone strike on Ukraine's gas infrastructure, damaging production facilities.

This was reported by Ukraine's Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko.

"Last night, Russia once again carried out another massive missile and drone strike on the gas infrastructure. In particular, production facilities were damaged," the statement reads.

According to him, specialists have already started assessing the damage and conducting restoration work.

"The aim of these criminal attacks is to halt the extraction of gas necessary to meet the household needs of citizens and centralized heating," the minister stated.

Currently, all necessary measures are being taken to eliminate the consequences of the attacks and stabilize gas supply.

Also as a result of damage to energy infrastructure objects from enemy attacks, the transmission system operator has been forced to implement power restrictions for industry and business.

Restrictions do not apply to household consumers, critical infrastructure, or enterprises that import more than 60% of electricity for their needs in accordance with the government resolution. Over the past day, energy workers restored power for 213,685 consumers who were left without electricity due to combat operations.
