Russia launched another massive strike on Ukraine on the night of May 26. However, the air defense managed to shoot down all enemy drones and 12 out of 14 missiles—all except the "Kinzhals."
This was reported by Mykola Oleschuk, the commander of the Air Forces.
According to him, as a result of an anti-aircraft battle by anti-aircraft missile units, fighter aviation, electronic warfare means of the Air Force, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, the following were shot down:
- 12 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles
- 31 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs
According to the general, the air targets were destroyed in the Mykolaiv, Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, and Chernihiv regions.
On the night of May 26, the Russian occupiers launched a missile and aviation strike on Ukraine using 14 air-launched missiles and more than three dozen strike UAVs, including:
- 2 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from MiG-31K aircraft (launched from the airspace of Russia’s Tambov region)
- 12 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 MS strategic aviation aircraft (launch area in Russia’s Saratov region)
- 31 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs (launched from Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeysk, Russia, and Cape Chauda, Crimea).
In Vinnytsia region, in Zhmerynka, three people were injured due to falling debris from an enemy drone. Additionally, in Starokostiantyniv, Khmelnytskyi region, there was a power outage.
