On the night of May 8, Russian aggressors launched a combined strike with various types of missiles and strike drones. Overall, Russia launched 76 air attack assets - 55 missiles and 21 strike drones.

This was stated by the Commander of the Air Force Mykola Oleshchuk on Telegram.

According to his data, the Russians launched the following against Ukraine:

• one aeroballistic missile X-47M2 Kinzhal (launched from the Tambov region of the Russian Federation);

• two ballistic missiles Iskander-M (from the occupied territories of Crimea);

• four cruise missiles Kalibr (from the Black Sea waters);

• 45 cruise missiles X-101/X-555 from strategic aviation aircraft Tu-95MS (launch area Saratov region of the Russian Federation, Caspian Sea waters);

• one cruise missile Iskander-K (from Crimea);

• two guided aviation missiles X-59/X-69 (from the occupied Zaporizhzhia region);

• 21 Shahed-131/136 type strike drones (from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk region of the Russian Federation).

"To repel the enemy's air attack, the Air Force deployed fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," said Oleshchuk.

As a result of the air battle, 59 air targets were destroyed:

• 33 cruise missiles X-101/X-555;

• four cruise missiles Kalibr;

• two guided aviation missiles X-59/X-69;

• 20 Shahed-131/136 type strike drones.

In turn, President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the massive missile strike by Russia on Victory Day, commemorating the victory over Nazism in World War II.

"The whole world must clearly understand who is who. The whole world cannot afford to give Nazism another chance," he emphasized.
