Russian forces struck a passenger bus in Kramatorsk, killing at least 12 people and injuring 13 others.

The Kramatorsk City Council reported the attack on Telegram.

"Russian forces struck a passenger bus in Kramatorsk. The vehicle was carrying passengers at the time of the attack," the statement said.

According to preliminary information, at least 12 people were killed and another 13 injured.

Ukraine's Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets condemned the attack, accusing Russia of systematically targeting Kramatorsk and its civilian population.

"Russia is systematically destroying Kramatorsk. It is methodically striking the city, destroying homes and infrastructure, terrorising civilians and trying to wipe Kramatorsk off the face of the Earth. And the most horrifying thing is that this continues. The world sees these crimes. The world knows who is committing them. Yet there has still been no punishment. And while statements, discussions and waiting continue, people are dying."

Lubinets stressed that the killing of Ukrainian civilians was not an isolated incident but part of what he described as a systematic campaign of terror.

"The Russian army is not killing Ukrainians by accident, nor is this happening for the first time. This is systematic terror against the civilian population. Russia must be held accountable for every life taken, every home destroyed and every city devastated," he said.

The full consequences of the attack are still being assessed.
