On June 17-18, Russian forces intensified attacks across several Ukrainian regions, resulting in civilian casualties, infrastructure damage, and continued military engagements.

Kyiv: Three killed following combined missile and drone strike

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that three people were killed in the Darnytskyi district of the capital after a combined Russian missile and drone strike. The attack caused widespread damage across the city.

"Three fatalities have been confirmed so far in the Darnytskyi district. In total, 114 people have sought medical assistance following the enemy’s massive attack. Sixty-eight of them have been hospitalized. The others did not require hospitalization after receiving medical aid," Klitschko wrote on Telegram.

Among the damaged infrastructure were two Ukrposhta branches destroyed in the assault, although one is expected to resume operations at a new location as soon as tomorrow.

The strike affected 27 locations throughout Kyiv, including residential buildings, schools, and critical infrastructure. According to Ihor Klymenko, the overall death toll in the capital reached 14 people with 44 injured following recent Russian attacks.

 

 

Kherson: Drone strike injures five civilians

The Kherson Regional Military Administration announced a drone attack on the Dnipro district, injuring three women and two men. The victims, aged between 47 and 84, suffered blast and shrapnel wounds and were hospitalized for treatment.

"Russian troops attacked the Dnipro district of Kherson with a drone this morning," the statement said.

Zaporizhzhia: Fires erupt following nighttime Russian strikes

The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Zaporizhzhia reported multiple fires caused by Russian attacks during the night. Firefighters extinguished blazes at a warehouse, an outbuilding, and woodpiles totaling approximately 300 square meters.

"On the night of June 17, fires broke out in various parts of the city as a result of an enemy strike on the regional center," the service noted on Telegram.

Chernihiv: Cruise missile and drone attacks cause damage, injure one

Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, confirmed that a residential neighborhood in Chernihiv was hit by a cruise missile, damaging homes and outbuildings.

He also reported a drone strike on a settlement in the Pryluky district that damaged a two-story house, garages, and vehicles.

"A 38-year-old woman suffered minor injuries. Medical personnel provided her with necessary care," Chaus stated.

 

Kharkiv region: Two injured in Kupiansk following bomb and drone strikes

Oleh Synehubov, head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration, reported that two people were injured in Kupiansk amid Russian attacks involving guided aerial bombs and a Shahed-type drone.

In addition, 10 private homes and an apartment building were damaged.

Synehubov added that Russian forces launched multiple assaults on Ukrainian positions near Dovhenke and Kamianka, which Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled.

 

 

Sumy region: Over 100 strikes on 35 settlements in one day

The Sumy Regional Military Administration disclosed that Russian forces launched more than 100 strikes on 35 settlements across 17 territorial communities between June 16 and 17.

The attacks included nearly 40 grenade drops from drones, nearly 10 guided bomb strikes, multiple rocket launcher fire, and assaults using various unmanned aerial vehicles.

Damage was reported to residential houses, administrative buildings, and vehicles. A man sustained severe injuries after stepping on an explosive device on his property.

During the day, 138 people were evacuated from border communities for safety.

Poltava region: Drone debris causes power outages

Volodymyr Kohut, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, reported that falling drone debris damaged a power transmission line, leaving 48 consumers without electricity.

“Forty-three residential and five commercial consumers were left without electricity,” Kohut said, adding that specialists are working to restore power.

Zaporizhzhia region: Hundreds of strikes target multiple settlements

Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, confirmed that Russian forces launched 543 strikes across 14 settlements in the region in one day.

The attacks included four missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia city, 11 air raids on surrounding towns, and over 330 drone attacks—mostly FPV types. Additionally, multiple rocket launchers and artillery strikes targeted several areas.

“Twenty-five reports were received regarding damage to private houses, apartments, vehicles, and infrastructure facilities,” Fedorov noted.
