Russian forces shell the border districts of Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions daily, and the intensity of attacks is increasing.
This was reported on air by State Border Guard Service spokesman Andriy Demchenko.
“Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv are directions where the enemy does not stop shelling our territory every day. We even see a trend toward an increase in the number of strikes… the enemy uses artillery and drones to hit our territory,” Demchenko said.
He added that the number of attacks in Chernihiv has noticeably increased recently, while the intensity in Sumy and Kharkiv remains consistently high.
“In Kharkiv region, specifically on the Kupiansk axis, the enemy is attempting attacks on our positions. We are talking about sectors where units of the State Border Guard Service are deployed,” the spokesman clarified.
Demchenko noted that on the front the Russian forces are most active on the Lyman and Pokrovsk axes. In the areas of responsibility of State Border Guard units, the Russian forces mostly employs infantry groups without using armored vehicles.
At the same time, Ukrainian units are actively using drones along the front line to detect and destroy Rusian artillery, vehicles, and equipment.
“Our unmanned aerial vehicles are actively operating beyond the front line to track approaches of infantry groups, enemy strike assets and equipment, and destroy them as much as possible so that the enemy cannot mass forces for larger-scale attacks,” Demchenko assured.
