Russian forces attacked a school in Sumy with guided aerial bombs.
“All services in Sumy are currently working at the site of the Russian airstrike. Four guided aerial bombs hit the city centre, directly striking a school building where classes were underway. I thank the teachers and school administration: the children and teachers were in a shelter, and a total of 100 people were evacuated in time. Private homes were also damaged,” the President wrote.
According to him, two people have been killed and six injured, including three children.
Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi clarified that, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties at the school. Those killed and injured were victims of the strike on the residential sector of Sumy.
“Russian terrorists are simply despicable. To strike children, schools and ordinary homes like this. America, Europe and all our partners must not forget that Russia will not stop this madness without real pressure,” the President said.
He added that Ukraine expects the response to these attacks “not to be limited to words.”
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said Russian strikes were continuing “almost non-stop” across most regions. Overnight and during the day, attacks were reported in the Kyiv, Odessa, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Volyn, Rivne, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Sumy regions.
“Russia continues to strike residential buildings, civilian businesses, and transport and energy infrastructure,” Koretskyi said.
