A Russian military helicopter destroyed in occupied Crimea.
This was reported by the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Armed Forces Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk. He stated that a shipborne multi-purpose Ka-27 helicopter had been destroyed.
"Minus one Russian Ka-27 in Crimea. It was looking for something. It found it," he wrote.
The Ka-27 was designed as a ship-based aircraft capable of performing a wide range of tasks: searching for, detecting, and engaging submarines, conducting search and rescue operations, evacuating the wounded, and transporting cargo.
The destruction of the helicopter was also confirmed by Russian 'military correspondents. They stated that the helicopter could have been accidentally shot down by Russian air defense.
"If the information about friendly fire is confirmed, has anyone been punished after all such incidents? I understand that war forgives a lot," the Russians said.
Then they added that, according to the official version, the Russian helicopter lost orientation and crashed.
As of April 10, the Ukrainian Air Force has not yet included Russian helicopters in the list of losses.
