Rudenko said that Russian troops had deployed artillery under cover of the civilian population of Ukraine. After that, the occupiers received an order to "fire a volley on the city's outskirts."

"We were confronted when we were ordered to fire, as they say, on the city's outskirts. When I looked at the map we were given, it turned out that they were peaceful houses, civilians," Rudenko said.
Shooting a car with a woman and her son
Captive Rudenko also spoke about how a civilian car was shot at in Nova Kakhovka.
"I was confronted with the shooting of a civilian car in Nova Kakhovka. There was a woman there, and her son was driving, and they shot him with a machine gun," the prisoner said.
Rudenko said the shooting happened because they were driving and did not stop.
