Russians struck Kostiantynivka with bombs – 1 dead, 8 injured

On the morning of February 19, Russian forces launched airstrike bombings on residential buildings in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region.

This was reported by the Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, on Telegram.

"At least one person has died and seven others are injured as a result of today’s strikes on Kostiantynivka. In addition to the confirmed casualties, another person may be trapped under the rubble of one of the buildings," the message states.

 

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that the Russian military carried out two airstrikes on Kostiantynivka at 08:50. The bombs hit densely populated residential areas. As a result of the attack, three women and a 65-year-old man were injured in their apartments. They were diagnosed with blast injuries, shrapnel wounds, and a concussion. They were taken to the hospital.

Seven minutes later, the Russian military launched another four bombing strikes, targeting the private sector. Two women sustained contusions and a concussion. They received medical assistance, and one of the victims' condition is considered critical.

 

 

Preliminary reports suggest that the Russian forces used six FAB-250 bombs with a guided control system.

The city suffered damage to four apartment buildings, 34 private houses, power lines, gas pipelines, and vehicles.

 

UPDATE

In Donetsk region, after the shelling of Kostiantynivka, there are already eight injured, the body of one deceased person has been retrieved from the rubble, and another person may be trapped under the debris.

This was reported on Facebook by the head of the Kostiantynivka City Military Administration, Serhii Horbunov.

"In the morning, the enemy launched two rockets from the multiple launch rocket system Smerch. As a result, the facades of apartment buildings, a pharmacy, a store, an administrative building, a car, and a power line of DTEK were damaged. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported from this attack. Shortly thereafter, Russian aviation dropped two FAB-250 bombs on the city's high-rise buildings. This caused significant damage to the facades of residential buildings, power lines, gas pipelines, and vehicles belonging to local residents. Five civilians were injured in the attack. As of 3:00 PM, it is possible that one person remains trapped under the rubble. 

In addition to the high-rise buildings, the private sector also came under enemy fire. Four airstrikes caused significant destruction to private homes, an educational institution, DTEK power lines, and gas pipelines. Three more civilians were injured in these attacks. In the afternoon, State Emergency Service workers, together with municipal services, retrieved the body of a deceased woman from under the rubble after the nighttime shelling."
