The former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, continues his treatment in a clinic in Tbilisi and dreams of a victory for Ukraine.

"Ukrainian Pravda" recorded an interview with the former head of the Odesa Regional State Administration.

Mikheil Saakashvili is sure that the war will end with Russia's complete defeat and collapse.

"If I live to win (I believe, in a few months), I want to return to Odessa - enjoy the sea view and treat my friends," - he says.

Saakashvili says that he has not seen a ray of sunlight for seven months because his "chamber" windows are sealed with a thick film. The former president says that he does not regret the arrest but only that he cannot actively participate in the war with the occupiers.

"If I had not gone from Ukraine to Georgia and launched an invasion in February 2022 in Kyiv, I would be next to President Zelensky, the most outstanding statesman in the post-Churchill period. Compared to him, Reagan and Thatcher smoke nervously on the sidelines. At the same time, I would travel around the world, using my many connections to mobilize support for Ukraine. Secondly, I would constantly go to the front line and help Ukrainian and Georgian fighters," says Mikheil Saakashvili. "Recently, Georgian soldiers recorded a collective address, wishing me a happy birthday. However, I do not for a moment forget the fact that already 35 of them had laid down their heads in the war, including 7 on the Bakhmut front. And many of my Ukrainian friends died or were wounded."

I feel 100% Ukrainian, and I have never been so proud of it

"One of the most decent and honest people I know, my assistant Volodymyr Chavrygi, died near Kherson. My only personal bodyguard and a friend, Mykhailo Baturin, was seriously wounded near Bakhmut. This is the price that Ukraine and all of us pay. I feel 100% Ukrainian, and I have never been so proud of it."

It will be recalled that Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili returned to his homeland, Georgia, in September 2021. After that, the politician was arrested and imprisoned. He is accused of abuse of office.
