Since the beginning of March, the State Border Guard Service’s internal and internal security officers have documented 76 attempts to bribe border guards.
The proposed funds amounted to 46,650 US dollars, 7,750 euros, 74,000 hryvnias, 4,520 Polish złoty and 3,000 Czech koruna.
In these cases, the State Border Guard Service officials refused illegal benefits. To bring bribe-takers to justice under Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, relevant notifications were sent to the competent authorities.
Conscript bribery was mostly attempted by conscripts who were restricted from going abroad during martial law.
Only last day, several such trials were documented on the border with the EU and Moldova. In particular, one of our compatriots tried to bribe border guards at the Mohyliv-Podilskyi checkpoint on the border with Moldova. A 38-year-old man provided border guards with an invalid group II disability certificate. But realizing that the border guards had exposed the forgery and that he would not be able to cross the border in this way, the man offered a bribe of $ 1,000. The scam failed, as two others, when citizens born in 1982 and 1996 traveled to Poland and Romania through the Uhryniv and Porubne checkpoints.
