Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has launched 63 air-ballistic Kinzhal missiles at Ukraine, with Ukraine successfully intercepting 25 of them.

This information was reported by Yuriy Ignat, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, during a TV marathon.

"As of now, we have 63 'Kinzhal' missiles launched since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. This is official information. We have destroyed 25 of them, starting from May 4, 2023. That's when we received the Patriot system in the spring of last year and gained the capability to destroy air-ballistic missiles," stated Ignat.

He also commented on a video captured during a massive rocket attack on Kyiv, showing one of the enemy missiles falling into the Dnipro River. Ignat emphasized that it's yet to be confirmed whether it was a Kinzhal.

"It could have been anything. So, you can say what type it is when you see it," he added.

It's worth noting that the MiG-31K serves as the carrier for the air-ballistic missile "Kinzhal," which is challenging to intercept due to its trajectory. Until spring 2023, Ukrainian forces had not successfully intercepted "Kinzhal." However, in May, they destroyed a Russian "Kinzhal" for the first time using the Patriot system provided by Ukraine's partners.
