Slovenia will join the Czech initiative to purchase and supply artillery shells to the Armed Forces of Ukraine outside the European Union.
The country's Ministry of Defense announced this on social media.
Thus, Slovenia joins other countries that have already supported the Czech initiative for joint procurement and rapid delivery of large-caliber ammunition to Ukraine.
For this purpose, the Slovenian government has allocated one million euros as its contribution.
President Pavel mentioned the possibility of purchasing artillery shells for Ukraine from third countries at the Munich Security Conference in mid-February.
As of today, more than 15 countries have committed to financing the purchase of artillery shells. Among them are Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Lithuania, France, and Norway, as well as Canada, Sweden, and Portugal.
