Ukrainian Special Operations Forces struck the radar station of a S-400 Triumf a Russian-developed, mobile, long-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) system, also known as the SA-21 Growler by NATO in occupied Crimea, the Special Operations Forces reported on Telegram.

“On the night of September 30, Special Operations Forces units hit the radar station of the Russian S-400 Triumf system,” the report stated.

The expensive Russian air defense system, designed in part to counter drones, was neutralized using SSO strike drones.

“The radar station is the ‘eyes’ of the S-400 ‘Triumf’ system. Without its observation and targeting element, the entire system loses its combat capability,” the Special Operations Forces explained.
