Units of the State Border Guard Service defending Ukraine within Sumy Region report a decrease in Russian attacks and confirm that Russian forces are being redeployed to other sectors of the front.

This was stated on air by State Border Guard spokesperson Andriy Demchenko.

“Our guys from the units stationed in Sumy Region, in the areas where the enemy continues to operate with small infantry groups — namely in the Khotyn and Yunakivka communities — note that the number of attacks or enemy actions has significantly decreased compared to the initial phase, when the invaders were trying to advance deeper into our territory along this axis,” Demchenko said.

According to him, the Russian forces are gradually withdrawing its accumulated forces from this direction and redeploying them, in particular, to the south.

He added that the head of the State Border Guard Service, Serhiy Deineko, recently visited the Sumy Border Detachment and the “Steel Border” brigade to assess the situation and commend those who demonstrated exceptional resilience in battles against the Russian forces.
