Sweden is ready to contribute to security guarantees for Ukraine and Europe after an agreement is reached to end Russia’s war.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson wrote about this on the social media platform X following a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris with the participation of Ukraine and the United States.
“Good progress made today in Paris, when we in the Coalition of the Willing, Ukraine and the United States met to discuss peace in Ukraine.,” the head of government noted.
According to him, once a peace agreement is reached, Sweden will provide Gripen fighter jets for air surveillance over Ukraine, resources for demining the Black Sea, and will continue training Ukrainian servicemembers.
“A prerequisite is of course for a peace deal to be reached, rules of engagement for the multinational force to be clear, and formal approval by the parliament,” the prime minister said.
“Sweden is prepared to do our part for peace in Europe,” he added.
