The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) has announced an increase in the total funding for the application competition for Swiss companies in Ukraine from 50 to 100 million Swiss francs.

The competition marks the beginning of Switzerland’s 2025-2028 initiative to support Ukraine, with a total budget of 1.5 billion Swiss francs. This, in turn, is the first phase of a long-term 12-year support program, which will amount to 5 billion francs in total.

“The high level of interest from Swiss businesses demonstrates the effectiveness of the intergovernmental agreement mechanism, which we are actively implementing in cooperation with other partner countries. Thanks to the successful implementation of this approach, our partners have decided to double the program’s funding. An additional 50 million Swiss francs will be allocated for Ukraine’s reconstruction projects in collaboration with Swiss companies. I sincerely thank our Swiss partners for this decision, which will significantly strengthen our economic recovery efforts. The program focuses on projects in civil protection, infrastructure and municipal restoration, as well as modernization of public services,” said First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko.

Due to the program’s expansion, the application deadline has been extended until March 31, 2025.

The competition is open to Swiss companies that have a legal entity in Ukraine and can make a significant contribution to reconstruction and the creation of added value for the Ukrainian economy.

The updated competition conditions do not require applicants to resubmit their applications. However, those who have already submitted documents have the opportunity to amend their proposals. More details can be found via the provided link.

Background:

Swiss-Ukrainian cooperation has a long history, which has significantly intensified following the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Switzerland declared its commitment to long-term support for Ukraine in April 2024, announcing the allocation of 5 billion francs over the next 12 years. In January 2025, during the World Economic Forum in Davos, a Memorandum was signed between Ukraine and Switzerland to allocate the first 50 million francs for Swiss companies to implement projects in Ukraine.
