Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, conducted operations in the active combat zones of the Kharkiv and Kupiansk directions, providing an update on the situation at the front.

"The situation around Kupiansk is difficult. The enemy is attempting to break through our defense from two directions. Fierce battles are ongoing. Our task is to stop the enemy and force them to go on the defensive. My task is to ensure this direction is supplied with sufficient ammunition and combat-ready reserves to significantly strengthen our defense," Syrskyi wrote on Facebook.

Despite the complexity of the situation, Syrskyi stated that the Ukrainian Defense Forces have chances to change the situation in their favor, and the soldiers are doing everything possible to achieve this.

He also reported that in the Kharkiv direction, the Russian forces is focusing its main efforts and attempting to advance towards Hlyboke and Lyptsi but is suffering significant losses and has not been successful.

"In Vovchansk, our main task at this stage is to hold the enemy, inflict maximum losses, and gradually advance to liberate our territories," he noted.

Syrskyi emphasized that the Russian forces continues offensive actions, concentrating its main efforts in the Kurakhiv, Pokrovsk, Kupiansk, and Kharkiv directions. Additionally, active assaults are being carried out in Vovchansk and on the approaches to Chasiv Yar with the aim of capturing and controlling these two settlements.

"In other directions, the enemy is conducting offensive operations to stretch the line of active front, pin down our troops, and prevent their redeployment to other combat areas. Overall, the situation remains difficult due to the high intensity of combat and the extensive use of armored vehicles by the enemy, as well as the deployment of a significant number of guided aerial bombs," he added.

Moreover, Syrskyi highlighted the effective work of most commanders and headquarters. He mentioned that commanders of the units are fully aware of the situation, skillfully utilizing all types of weapons, especially various types of strike drones.

"I also thank the soldiers, sergeants, and junior officers for their resilience and courage," the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine concluded.
