The bodies of another 909 fallen defenders have been returned to Ukraine

As a result of repatriation efforts, the bodies of another 909 fallen defenders have been returned to Ukraine.

This was reported on Telegram by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Among those were fallen defenders from:

  • the Kurakhiv direction;
  • the Pokrovsk direction;
  • the Bakhmut direction;
  • the Vuhledar direction;
  • the Luhansk direction;
  • the Zaporizhzhia direction;
  • the Sumy direction;
  • the Kharkiv direction;
  • morgues on Russian territory.

 

The fallen defenders were returned as a result of joint efforts by employees of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center at the SSU, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons in Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and other structures of Ukraine's Security and Defense Sector.

"We express our gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance. Special thanks to the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who are responsible for transporting repatriated fallen heroes to designated state specialized institutions, organizing the handover of the deceased to law enforcement agencies within the Ministry of Internal Affairs and to forensic medical experts within the Ministry of Health. The law enforcement investigators, in cooperation with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will identify the deceased in the shortest possible time," the message reads.
