The Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the “Oskolneftesnab” oil depot in Belgorod Oblast, Russia, and a Russian military supply depot in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region on the night of January 7.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
“As part of efforts to reduce the offensive capabilities of the Russian aggressor, on the night of January 7, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the ‘Oskolneftesnab’ oil depot near the settlement of Kotel in Belgorod Oblast, Russia. The depot is used to supply fuel to the occupying army,” the General Staff stated.
The strikes caused a large-scale fire in the storage tanks. Additionally, to disrupt Russian logistics in Donetsk region, a supply depot of the 20th Russian Motorized Rifle Division was also hit.
The extent of the damage in both cases is being assessed.
Furthermore, preliminary assessments indicate that two RVS-5000 vertical storage tanks were damaged at the Temp strategic reserve oil depot in the Yaroslavl oblast of Russia.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to take measures to undermine the offensive and military-economic capabilities of the russian occupiers and force russia to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine.
