The head of the Odessa regional military administration Maxim Marchenko, met with the head of the sub-office of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Frans Lau to discuss the assessment of the humanitarian needs of internally displaced persons, including the emergency programme.
First of all, it has been determined that assistance is provided in carrying out repair work in those premises where internally displaced persons live compactly.
They also discussed border monitoring to set up tents to help refugees.
Frans Lau noted that the leadership of the Sub-Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees plans to strengthen activities in the Odessa region, and to this end they plan to visit several locations in the region to assess the humanitarian needs of internally displaced persons effectively and better develop an action plan and assistance scheme.
