A joint production site of Ukroboronprom and Rheinmetall, specializing in the repair and production of armored vehicles, has started operating in Ukraine.
This was reported by the Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kamyshin, on Telegram.
"This is the first implemented project within the partnership of Ukroboronprom and the German defense giant," he noted.
According to the minister, this will already allow for faster repair of foreign equipment and, therefore, its quicker return to the front lines. In the future, he pointed out, new models of armored vehicles will be produced here.
"What is important is the support not only for the Armed Forces of Ukraine but also for our economy. Ukrainian specialists work in the plant under the technical supervision of colleagues from Germany. Taxes are paid in Ukraine. And we are gaining new technologies," Kamyshin emphasized.
