On May 15, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden visited the Ukrainian pavilion 'Not For Sale' at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan as part of his official visit to the country. The King paid special attention to Ukraine’s pavilion, which presents a unique concept built around the idea of non-negotiable values.
Ukraine opened its pavilion at Expo 2025 on April 13. For over a month now, visitors have been engaging with the concept of a “store” where nothing is for sale — because each “item” represents a human value such as freedom of speech, the right to choose, or unity.
During his visit, King Carl XVI Gustaf explored the exhibit and learned about the core message of the pavilion, which conveys the resilience of the Ukrainian spirit and the importance of defending fundamental values.
"The visit of King Carl XVI Gustaf to Ukraine’s pavilion at Expo 2025 is yet another expression of Sweden’s support, which we have felt since the first days of the full-scale war — through military, humanitarian, and financial aid, demining support, and assistance to Ukrainians who found refuge in Sweden. Today, it is also support for the 'Not For Sale' pavilion, where we talk about values Ukrainians defend at the cost of their lives. We are grateful to every visitor. Over the first month, the pavilion welcomed more than 100,000 people from around the world. At the start, there were even queues, and we had to bring in extra security. This proves the world stands with Ukraine and supports our pursuit of lasting peace,"
said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian pavilion 'Not For Sale' will remain open at Expo 2025 in Osaka until October 13, 2025, inviting all visitors to engage in a conversation about values that cannot be sold.
The official Ukrainian pavilion at World Expo 2025 in Osaka, 'Not For Sale', presents Ukraine as a nation that, even in its darkest times, preserves and defends human values — the foundation for future recovery and development.
