The purpose of the memorandum is to strengthen cooperation in the development of digital skills, digital innovations, the establishment of a quality learning environment, and the bridging of educational gaps and disparities.

"Education is one of our main priorities. We must fight for human capital, catch up with the world, create the best conditions for the development and education of Ukrainians. In particular, we have revived the New Ukrainian School reform and created a concept for transforming old Soviet schools into modern spaces, implementing new technologies, eliminating unnecessary bureaucracy for parents and teachers, transforming vocational schools, and launching a reform of higher education funding. We continue to introduce digital tools that transform the education system and provide more opportunities for the development of both children and teachers," says Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovations, Education, Science, and Technology - Minister of Digital Transformation.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation and EdCamp Ukraine will work together to improve the information and educational environment of the education system, distance learning, and professional development, as well as organize regional, national, and international conferences for teachers in the EdCamp format and other events.

"For us, it is an honor to sign this memorandum, as our organization contributes significantly to the digital transformation of the education sector. In particular, in 2021, we launched the national EdWay platform for professional development opportunities. We collaborate with giants in the IT industry such as HP, Lenovo, Intel, Microsoft, and others. We provide training in information and digital competence for teaching staff. So we are very pleased to formalize our relationship," says Oleksandr Elkin, Chairman of the EdCamp Ukraine NGO Council.

During the signing of the memorandum, they discussed the consequences of COVID-19 and full-scale war for education. They identified problems that need to be addressed today so that in the future, children have the opportunity to choose their professional path.

Also, the EdCamp Ukraine team, together with relevant government institutions, presented selected results of Ukraine's research on social-emotional skills (DoSEN) and the national online platform Povir. This free environment for middle and high school students and their parents for growth and learning will help improve knowledge of Ukrainian and English languages, mathematics, and develop soft skills. Soon, the first 2,000 students will start learning with Povir for free. The project will then be scaled up.
