At this year’s First Ladies and Gentlemen Summit themed “Education that Shapes the World,” the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the company SkillLab BV signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

SkillLab is an international technology company headquartered in Amsterdam specializing in skills intelligence. A winner of the Google AI Impact Challenge, the company develops technological solutions to tackle global challenges such as job search after forced relocation.

“Together with our team and partners, we are creating a new generation of EdTech solutions that help Ukrainians prepare for the future. Every two years we conduct large-scale studies of digital skills, and we’re already seeing progress: since 2019 their level has grown by 12.6%. In 2025, we will assess Ukrainians’ AI skills for the first time. Partnering with SkillLab, a company specializing in skills intelligence, allows us to integrate the best European practices and help Ukrainians better understand their own competencies and choose the skills that open pathways to new opportunities in the global economy,” said Valeria Ionan, Adviser to the First Vice Prime Minister — Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine on Innovation, Digitalization and Global Partnerships.

Together with other educational partners, SkillLab BV will join Diia.Osvita initiatives in areas such as:

  • searching for and integrating modern EdTech solutions to develop the Diia.Osvita ecosystem;
  • creating convenient tools to display citizens’ digital skills by profession;
  • aligning the training of Ukrainian specialists with European competency frameworks;
  • exploring the use of the platform’s AI tools both for learning and for developing professional skills.

“It’s a great honor for us to cooperate with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Diia.Osvita. Ukraine is facing unprecedented challenges that are radically reshaping its labor market. Together we can respond to these challenges and build a sustainable future. By working together, we’ll give Ukrainians tools to better understand their competencies, align them with European standards, and develop the skills needed for the country’s recovery and growth in the global economy. This partnership is a powerful instrument for opening new opportunities and shaping a stronger future for Ukraine,” emphasized Simon Schmid, Partner at SkillLab BV and Managing Director of Just Skills Hub.

The world is undergoing a period of turbulence and new challenges that are transforming both the labor market and the very logic of education. In this context, the partnership between Diia.Osvita and SkillLab becomes a strong tool for opening new opportunities. We are helping Ukrainians identify their competencies, master the skills of the future, and remain competitive in the global economy.

The strategic partner of the Diia.Osvita platform is the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program implemented by the East Europe Foundation. The platform was updated in 2023 on the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine with support from Google.org
